Martin Luther king spoke a very inspirational speech on August 28, 1963. This speech was one of the top ten speeches ever spoken in American history. The speech was the “I have a dream” speech. This speech had a huge impact on society, it made black and white people of the world realize that there was no need to segregate each other by the way we look. This speech should our country that there was a large gap between white and black rights.
This speech has served to inspire the civil rights movement and made history by later on passing laws including: the civil rights bills of 1968. This bill was made August 11, 1968; President Lyndon B. Johnson signs the civil rights act of 1968. This act provided for equal housing regardless of race, creed or national origin. This provided equal opportunity to buy or lease housing.
Also the civil rights bill of 1972 and 1990 were later on created due to the help of kings inspiring speech. The education amendments of 1972 were made this prohibited sex diversity so that it didn’t matter if you were a girl or a boy you were still allowed to go to school and get an education.
